MetaCommunications Expands Distribution to Australia and New Zealand

Iowa City, IA (PRWeb) March 13, 2007 -- MetaCommunications, a leading software developer of cross-platform process management and productivity solutions for the graphic arts industry, today announced an agreement with DataBasics, a major distributor of leading IT products in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, for distribution of Workgroups 2006, its process automation and management solution.

"We are delighted to be working with DataBasics," said Robert T. Long, Executive Vice President of MetaCommunications. "Their specialization in creative business solutions for prepress, networking, internet and productivity makes them especially well suited to represent Workgroups 2006, a platform designed to deliver improved productivity and facilitate streamlined collaboration in the marketing, creative, publishing, prepress and print environments."

"Since starting to work with the MetaCommunications, I am amazed at the number and range of organizations that have approached us with an interest in the Workgroups product suite, even before we started to promote it!" says Ricky Patten, director of DataBasics. "The real beauty of this product suite is its scalability from small operations to large corporates, plus its flexibility in meeting the needs of a wide range of users."

Workgroups 2006 consists of four core components:

- Job Manager, a powerful suite of financial management tools that enable creative and production workgroups to accurately create estimates and quotes, monitor job costs, quickly generate on-demand reporting and invoices, and share information with industry leading accounting systems.

- Virtual Ticket, a configurable job ticketing solution that brings together all the components of your work in a centralized location, including project briefs, job tickets, customer information, associated document files, and more. From this one location Virtual Ticket provides advanced workflow tools to help you manage and automate your processes, dramatically improving productivity, turnaround time, and quality.

- Approval Manager, a tool for managing, tracking, and scheduling any approval process within and across creative and production environments.

- Digital Storage Manager, a powerful storage management solution specially designed for creative, publishing and prepress workgroups, leveraging multiple file servers, near-line storage, and offline media.

By combining all four components in a streamlined, integrated suite, Workgroups 2006 unites and empowers workgroups by facilitating collaboration, automating processes, centralizing information, managing workflows, tracking files, and measuring key financial and productivity metrics.

DataBasics will immediately begin marketing Workgroups 2006 to its broad customer base in the dynamic Pacific Rim market.
